My Current Skincare Routine

Hey ladies! With the fall season fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to share my skincare routine. I would like to start by saying that I’m not a skin care specialist, but I have tried almost every product on the market and the items listed below have worked wonders for me.

Give Your Skin A Little Love

Skincare is so unique and the products I use may or may not work for you. I have oily to combination skin. Additionally, I live in South Florida and the climate here is extremely hot and humid. My T-Zone gets very oily throughout the day and these products help to reduce oiliness.

If your skin type is similar to mine, you will get the most out of this blog post! If you are seeking new products to incorporate into your regimen, or targeting a specific area, I hope these suggestions are helpful! Hey, when something works, STICK WITH IT.

Simply Tami- My Current Skincare Routine

My nighttime routine is slightly different from the morning. Check out the chart below to see how I layer the products on my face in the morning as opposed to evenings.

Skin Care Chart

Products I Use:

Biore Witch Hazel Pore Clarifying Cleansing Cloths
#1: Make-up Remover Wipes

I wear light makeup everyday so it’s essential that I use a makeup remover that performs without being too harsh on my skin. The Biore Witch Hazel Makeup Remover Wipes are perfect for removing eyeliner and foundation. This is seriously a holy grail staple in my current skincare routine.

#2: Cleanser/ Moisturizer

I’m currently loving the Curology Set which includes a gentle cleanser, customized prescription, and moisturizer. These products were welcomed to my regimen 3 months ago and so far, my experience has been exceptionally good. I took a brief skin type quiz, shared a few pictures of my skin, and Curology sent a specially formulated combo for my skin. Unfortunately, I’m not affiliated with Curology, but they are offering a free introductory set, you’ll only be responsible for paying the cost of shipping and handling. It’s worth it to see if their products work for you. 😊

Budget Friendly Option:

If you’re on a budget, I recommend the Yes to Tomatoes brand (especially for acne prone skin). I have used their products on and off since 2015 and I love how my skin reacts to their products.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub- Simply Tami
#3: Scrub

I use a gentle scrub 3-4 times per week. Recently, I had a mild breakout with a couple of blackheads. If you’re like me, you are a popper lol. I don’t like bumps on my face and I’m fully aware that popping pimples or blackheads results in hyperpigmentation and dark spots. But lady!!!! I just can’t lol. To combat hyperpigmentation, I recently incorporated the Acure Brightening Facial Scrub. It’s a great exfoliator and it helps to remove dead skin cells and softens the face.

#4: Toner

Two words: Witch Hazel! The Witch Hazel Toner by BeYou Cosmetics is a winner! Witch Hazel is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps tighten pores and reduce swelling. This product is amazing for oil control, and I have noticed that my face is clearer after each use. Just dab a few drops on a cotton round and voila, an even-toned complexion. This product is gentle and perfect for all skin types.

Nano Ionic Steamer
#5: Steam

It’s so important to steam your face to get those pores open and help loosen any buildup of dirt. Steaming is so essential to get a deeper clean.  I only conduct this step at night because I have more time to relax and pamper myself. Make sure to put a towel over your head while steaming to help the mist concentrate on your face. I picked up the Nano Ionic Facial Steamer from Amazon. It’s super affordable and worth the investment to give yourself a mini facial at home. I loovvvveeee this step!!!!

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
#6: Serums

Serums are vital to help prevent the signs of aging and treat your skin. I rotate between various products depending on the condition of my skin. I’m currently using The Ordinary products to target different issues and areas of the face. As a result, I have noticed more refined pores and less blemishes.

  1. Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG by The Ordinary- This solution is great for undereye puffiness and dark circles
  2. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% by The Ordinary- This solution is a high strength formula to help fight break outs.
  3. Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% by The Ordinary- Vitamin C is so beneficial for an even tone, antioxidant support, and combatting the signs of aging. Warning: don’t apply too much of this product to one area. Spread it lightly and evenly. It has a tingling effect and after you apply a moisturizer the feeling intensifies.
Clearing Sweet Tea + Lemon Peel-Off Clay Mask
Freeman French Pink Clay Mask
#7: Face Masks

Face Mask are a little tricky because I pick up so many sheet masks. But my favorite masks are from the Freeman brand. My top two picks are the Clearing Sweet Tea and Lemon Peel of Mask and the French Pink Clay Peel-Off Mask. Make sure the mask is completely dry before attempting to peel it off. Trust me, you’ll thank me later lol.

Girl, your routine puts mine to shame. Lol! Most of my products are prescribed since I have an ongoing issue with acne. But I’ve heard a lot of good things about this Curology brand.

Girl, I swear by Curology. I would def recommend giving their products a try. They’ll prescribe a custom formula after reviewing your skin type. Let me know if you decide to give them a try.
